NEW Delmarva quality council meeting in July

Quality Council - July Meeting Announcement

Effective January 1, 2010, Delmarva Foundation was awarded the new quality assurance contract for Developmental Disabilities (DD) waiver services. Under the new contract, there is a different focus and scope of expectations, one that will focus more on quality assurance activities referred to as “Discovery”, defined in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services quality framework as the identification of areas for improvement by service providers.

One of the new responsibilities of Delmarva will be to staff the stakeholder advisory group that we have known previously as the Interagency Quality Council (IQC). The Council will take on a new name, new membership and a new focus. The new focus is one of structure and collaborative effort by key community stakeholders to provide the State with evidence-based recommendations regarding quality assurance, system changes, Medicaid Handbook modifications, and/or additional analysis; in a comfortable environment, whereby all members have an equal voice.

The QC will meet on a quarterly basis, and membership is for two years. Two meetings will be held in Tallahassee and the others in major cities across the state.

The first council meeting is scheduled for:
July 28, 2010
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Tallahassee Community College – Capitol Center
300 W. Pensacola St. Room 114
Tallahassee, Fl. 32301
