Confirm Full Medicaid Coverage

A provider must verify a recipients Medicaid eligibility status for the
date of service prior to rendering the service. Home and Community Based
Waiver Services and Assistive Care Services providers are not eligible
for reimbursement unless the recipient is eligible for a Full Medicaid
benefit plan for the date of service.

Home and Community Based Waiver Services providers and Assistive Care
Services providers must confirm full Medicaid eligibility for all
recipients every month. Medicaid reimbursements are subject to recoupment
by the Agency for any date of service a provider was paid when the
recipient was not fully Medicaid eligible.

Providers should work with the recipient and their local Department of
Children and Families ACCESS Florida Office to resolve any Medicaid
eligibility issues. Providers can access recipient eligibility
information using the Medicaid Eligibility Verification System (MEVS),
AVRS, and the provider Web portal. You may access Florida Medicaid
handbooks and contact information for your local Medicaid area office on
this Medicaid Web site: http://mymedicaid-florida.com.
