Check out what we found about the work, housing and financial security realities of adults living with special needs.
What are parents most concerned about?
These questions and others like them are why Easter Seals conducted our Living with Disabilities Study – to find out more about the realities faced by the millions of families with adult children living with developmental disabilities, and use that information to educate communities across the country.

As you may have experienced in your own family, at age 21 young adults with disabilities simply do not qualify for all the services provided to them as children. Things like finding a job, finding a place to live that supports all their needs, building friendships and even having fun can be big hurdles.
In the Living with Disabilities Study, conducted by Easter Seals and MassMutual, we found huge gaps exist between the concerns of families living with disabilities and those without. By studying these gaps, we can effectively advocate for the lifelong services families desperately need.
You don't have to have a disability or even know someone living with special needs to be an educated advocate. The more people who understand the challenges faced by families with disabilities, the closer we come to breaking down the barriers and stereotypes that they face every day.
No matter what your experience, we hope you will take our five-question quiz today, and then spread awareness about the lives of families living with disabilities by sharing it with your friends and neighbors.
