DCF to offer adult services fair in Fort Myers

DCF to offer adult services fair in Fort Myers

More than a dozen local agencies that support vulnerable adults in Southwest Florida are coming together for the first local adult services fair in Circuit 20 at the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Last year, the Florida Department of Children and Families investigated more than 1,900 cases of abuse, neglect and exploitation of elderly, disabled and vulnerable adults in Southwest Florida. In addition, thousands of elderly depend on DCF and many other local agencies for help with food, shelter and medical care.

The fair will bring together a broad range of agencies that help the elderly, including law enforcement, homeless services, hospice, mental health organizations, abuse shelters and other community service organizations.

The fair will take place at Oct. 4, 12 to 4 p.m., at 2295 Victoria Avenue, Fort Myers, in room 123.
